Finchley
Finchley is a home decor brand by Nicole Shorthouse — a printmaker, surface pattern designer, and lifelong artist raised in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi and shaped by years of travel and teaching art around the world.
After a career spent nurturing creativity in others — from classrooms in Japan, London, and New York to her hometown in Hawaiʻi — Nicole returned to her own art practice, carving and drawing the patterns that would become the heart of Finchley. What started as a creative escape turned into a collection of beautifully made, artful home goods.
Every Finchley piece begins by hand — whether it's a block print carved in the studio or a floral sketch drawn at the kitchen table. The final designs become thoughtful, small-batch pillows, textiles, and home accents designed to bring warmth and originality into your space.
Nicole’s style blends bold florals, graphic simplicity, and playful details with a laid-back elegance — inspired by vintage fabrics, natural forms, and the calm of island living.
Our collections are produced in small batches using eco-conscious methods and ethical practices. We believe in making things slowly, with care — reducing waste and prioritizing quality over quantity.
At its core, Finchley is about creating a home that reflects who you are. We believe that the things around you should spark joy, comfort, and creativity — and that a well-made piece of art can transform even the simplest space.
The name Finchley is a nod to a London neighborhood where Nicole once lived during a season of change — a quiet, creative pause between big moves and bigger dreams. Finchley is a reminder that inspiration lives in the in-between — and that making space for creativity at home is one of the most meaningful things we can do.
